Youkoso minna-san! You have arrived at my page dedicated to the one character that has inspired the longest obsession of my young life. Only recently did this character qualify for placement in a Harem, so it is with great pleasure that I dedicate this page to him. I've included pictures and quotes of him, and of course, just why I love him!
Yoda ~ The Star Wars Trilogies
Background
Yoda is quite possibly the greatest Jedi Master ever to live. He holds a place in the Jedi High Council, and is greatly respected by all in the Jedi order. After the fall of the Republic, Yoda is one of the few Jedi to survive. He takes up residence in a swamp on the planet Degobah, where he waits for Luke and Leia Skywalker to come of age. Knowing his father, Yoda knows that Luke and Leia are the only hope for the galaxy, and thus makes it his duty to train Luke in the Jedi arts.
Why Yoda?
Ever since I first saw the original Star Wars trilogy, I've always loved Yoda. He was, without a doubt, the coolest character I'd ever seen ^_^ This funny little green creature, yet he held such strength and skill. I'd never seen anything quite like him. I was thrilled with the idea of Jedis and lightsabers and such, and he was the best there was. He still is. And, with the newer movies, I finally got to see the thing I'd wanted to see since I first saw The Empire Strikes Back: Yoda, using his skills with the Force and even having a duel with lightsabers! *G*
Mentally...
Yoda is very intelligent; he has acquired much wisdom in his many years of life. Though he is very old, he does not seem it. In happier times, before the fall of the Republic, Yoda often helped train children in the Jedi arts. Also, he can be playful, when he wants to be.
Vocally...
Frank Oz provides the voice of Yoda, in both the new and old Star Wars movies. I always liked Yoda's voice. I always liked the way he talked; that is, his speech mannerisms. And his silly little laugh, and a million other things ^_^ Though, for some reason, I think that he sounds older in the new trilogy than he did in the original. But I still like it very much ^_^
Quotes
"Hard to see, the dark side is."
"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. I sense much fear in you."
"Mmm. Lost a planet, Master Obi-Wan has. How embarrassing. How embarrassing."
"Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is."
"Around the survivors a perimeter create."
"The dark side clouds everything. Impossible to see the future is."
"Victory?! Victory, you say? Master Obi-Wan, not victory. The shroud of the dark side has fallen. Begun the Clone War has."
"Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained! A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph! Adventure. Heh! Excitement. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless!"
"Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere. Yes, even between the land and the ship."
"Wars not make one great."
"Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try."
"Yes, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's apprentice!"
"When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good you will not. Hmm?"
"Soon will I rest, yes, forever sleep. Earned it I have. Twilight is upon me, soon night must fall."
"Luke, do not underestimate the powers of the Emperor, or suffer your father's fate you will."
Yoda: It is the future you see.
Luke Skywalker: Will they die?
Yoda: Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.
Luke Skywalker: I want my lamp back! I'm gonna need it to get out of this slimy
mudhole!
Yoda: Mudhole? Slimy? My home this is!
Luke Skywalker: I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you fail.
Luke: Master Yoda, you can't die.
Yoda: Strong am I with the Force, but not that strong.
