Kitsune Onna's Animated Harem

Bishounen - A Japanese term meaning "pretty young man".  However, it has come to mean any (anime) guy that one considers attractive.  Often shortened to "bishie"

Harem - A term used to describe group of males associated with one female

Youkoso minna-san, to my harem!  Born of my love of my favorite bishounen, this harem is based on an original concept by Kat of Animated Lust (Rated PG!)  Due to my preference for anime over Western animation, this harem consists primarily of my favorite bishounen.  Currently, there is only one non-anime character in my harem.

Almost every girl who has watched anime has had at least one experience with bishounen.   They may only be mildly infatuated, preferring to watch episodes that feature their bishounen.  Or, they be extremely devoted to the bishie of their choice, rarely thinking of anything else.  I happen to be of the very devoted persuasion ^_^;;

For those who, like me, have a stronger interest in their favorite bishounen, a great site to visit is Animated Lust .  Despite the title, the site and its contents are rated PG ^_^

With that said, youkoso minna-san, to my Harem!  Here you will find my thoughts on all my favorite bishounen -- the guys that I love to dream about when I should be doing my Calculus homework ^n_n^  I've included pictures of my bishies, as well as quotes and audio clips.  And, of course, very detailed accounts of just why I love them. ^n_n^  (Yeah, I know, I have way too much free time! *L*)

I've listed my top 4 Harem guys in order, then the rest in alphabetical order (by last name, if they have one).  My harem isn't really big, because I'm picky about who I'm willing to put in here.  A guy has to meet somewhat strict guidelines in order to be eligible for placement in my Harem ^_^  Not only do I have to be attracted to them physically, but mentally as well.  After all, how long will they interest me if there's nothing worthwhile behind that gorgeous face? ^_^

Current Harem Count:  35

#1 - Himura Kenshin ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Himura KenshinBackground

*Tsuioku Hen Spoilers* Himura Kenshin was born with the name of 'Shinta'.  When he was young, both of his parents died of cholera, leaving him in the care of slave traders.  One fateful night, the group is attacked by bandits.  As they easily slaughter the others in the group, young Shinta takes up a sword, prepared to defend the women of the group.  Before he can do anything, the girls shield him with their bodies, begging the men to spare his life.  Shinta can do nothing but watch as the men cut them down.  However, before they can lay a finger on him, a few of them are felled by a mysterious swordsman.  The man quickly kills the rest of the bandits, saving young Shinta.  Later, when he returns to the scene of the battle, the man sees that the boy has buried all of the bodies...those of the people with him, and the bandits.  At this time, the man introduces himself as Hiko Seijuro and offers to take the boy as his apprentice.  He gives him the name Kenshin, saying that the name 'Shinta' is too weak to be a swordsman's name.  Hiko then takes young Kenshin back to his home, where he teaches him the techniques of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu.  Years later, as he heard of the death and destruction of the Bakumatsu, he begged his master to let him leave to help.  He wanted to rescue the weak and suffering with his Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu.  Hiko was adamant; he said that Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu was never meant to get involved with such disputes, as it would certainly determine the winner, and would be corrupted by those in power.  He bluntly told Kenshin that if he left, his use of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu would make him into a mass murderer.  However, Kenshin was determined, and in the end, he left the home of his master.  He ended up with the Kihei-tai, where Katsura Kogoro discovered him.  Taking him to Kyoto, Katsura used Kenshin as his Hitokiri (assassin).  Some time later, Kenshin meets and falls in love with a young woman named Yukishiro Tomoe.  A short time later, a series of events lead Kenshin to accidentally cause her death.  Heartbroken, Kenshin vows to keep living, so that he can find a way to atone for the sins he committed as a Hitokiri.  He vows that, once the Bakumatsu is over, he will never take another human life, ever again.   At the end of the Bakumatsu, Kenshin takes up a sakaba-tou (reverse-blade sword) and becomes a rurouni (wanderer).  He wanders Japan for the following 10 years, until he ends up in Tokyo, where he meets a girl named Kamiya Kaoru...

Mentally..."Sessha wa rurouni..."

I love Kenshin for what he is...an honest man who wants nothing more than to live a better life, one free of death and strife.  He has such a gentle personality; he takes such pleasure from the simplest things in life.  He cares greatly for those around him, and is more than willing to lay down his life to protect them.  He has such a strong desire to help the weak and defenseless...that's the only thing he's ever fought for.  Also, I truly admire his strength and courage, which allowed him to go on living despite his grief and guilt, so he could repent for the sins he committed as Hitokiri Battousai.  I've always been a sucker for characters with tragic pasts, and of all my bishounen, Ken-chan has the most tragic story.  Though he did the deeds, Ken-chan never had the heart of a hitokiri (manslayer).  After the Bakumatsu, all he wanted was to repent for his sins....because of this, he took up a sakaba-tou (reverse bladed sword) and swore that he would never take another human life...EVER.   Despite his desires for a peaceful life, enemies from his past keep popping back into his life...No matter how hard he tries to escape his past, he is never quite able to free himself from its hold...It's heart-wrenching to watch him struggle so, and be unable to escape from the shadow of Hitokiri Battousai.  The reason that Kenshin is my Number One is fairly simple.  It's because the gentle, friendly, caring personality of Kenshin is what I hope to find in a real man, someday.

Physically...

Where to start? ^_^  I love his eyes.  Soft lavender in color, his eyes hold an endearing gentleness when in his usual rurouni persona.  Or, deep gold in color, his eyes hold a calm look of strength and sometimes a slight ferocity when in his Battousai persona...*sigh*  One look from those eyes, whether gentle rurouni or fierce Battousai, and I totally melt.  Next, of course, is his gorgeous mop of red hair...I love his hair...And his friendly smile, which masks the sadness and pain that forever lurk behind it...Also, his slight, muscular frame is just my type ^_^   Combine that with the pure animalistic physical attraction of his killing grace when he springs into action in his Battousai persona...*melts*

"Ore wa Battousai..."Vocally...

I really love his Japanese voice.  He has such a soft, easy-to-listen-to voice...which lends itself nicely his two modes of speech...gentle and unassuming in his rurouni persona, and calm, strong, and confident in his Battousai persona...I've always loved to listen to him talk ^_^  Besides his voice, I like the way he's adapted his syntax, in his rurouni persona. His use of 'sessha', 'de gozaru', and 'oro' which are unique to him...And of course, who can forget his wonderful dialogue ^_^  Not just the way he words things, but what he actually has to say.  Though he acts very humble, he is actually rather wise.

Quotes

"A sword is a weapon.  Swordsmanship is learning how to kill.  That is the truth.   What Kaoru-dono says is play-talk that only those who have never stained their hands can say.  However, I prefer Kaoru-dono's play-talk more than the truth, I do.   I wish, that in the world to come, her play-talk shall become the truth." -- Kenshin to Hiruma Gohei (Japanese)

"We once fought with our swords.  Not for power or glory, but for a world where people could live in happiness.  And if you forget that, you're just an usurper." -- Kenshin to Yamagata Aritomo (Japanese)

"When I was at the brink of life or death, I used all my will to survive...I drew upon a different power than that of self-sacrifice and mastered an ultimate technique.  The will to live is stronger than anything else.  That was the ray of light that my master risked his life to show me." -- Kenshin to Aoshi (Japanese)

"You can use all the skills you like.  However.  Now that I've said I will kill...your death is inevitable." -- Battousai to Udoh Jinei (Japanese)

#2 - Sagara Sanosuke ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Manga-style Sanosuke...*drool*Background

As a young boy, Sanosuke worked with the Sekihoutai.  Sanosuke greatly looked up to the Sekihoutai's Captain Sagara Souzou, whose surname he took after the war.  When the Ishin Shishi betrayed the Sekihoutai, killing them, young Sanosuke was one of the only ones who survived.  While trying to save his wounded mentor, Sanosuke was cornered at the top of a cliff.  Knowing that he had no chance, Captain Sagara threw Sanosuke over the cliff, into the river below, as the Ishin Shishi catch up to them.  As Sanosuke falls, he sees the men take down his beloved mentor.  From that day on, Sanosuke nursed an extreme hatred for the Ishin Shishi.  For the next decade or so, Sanosuke lived as a fighter-for-higher under the name of 'Zanza', eventually settling in Tokyo.  He met Himura Kenshin when a fight broke out in the Akabeko (a restaurant in Tokyo).  The two eventually cross swords when Hiruma Gohei hires Sanosuke to defeat Kenshin.  Knowing that Kenshin is the infamous "Hitokiri Battousai", Sanosuke wanted desperately to defeat him.  Unfortunately, Kenshin's skill surpassed his own.  Upon learning the reason for Sanosuke's hatred of the Ishin Shishi, Kenshin talks about his own beliefs.  Surprised to learn that "Hitokiri Battousai" is now working to defend the weak and downtrodden, Sanosuke finally accepts defeat.   Shortly after this, Sanosuke vows to follow Kenshin, so that he can see with his own eyes that he is different than the other Ishin Shishi.  The two quickly become good friends.

Mentally...

I love a man who understands loyalty, integrity and friendship, and lives his life by these values.  He's always loyal, backing his friends one hundred percent.  No matter what the danger, he never hesitates to jump in and help his buddy, Kenshin ^_^  His easy-going personality is very endearing.  He's usually optimistic, and always ready to help.  He's also usually good for a laugh.  Take the carriage ride, or the incident with Chou in the Kyoto Arc ^_^  Also, I find his slightly rough side rather charming.  His 'tough guy' attitude is priceless ^_^  He takes such pleasure in fighting, gambling, and running up an enormous tab at the Akabeko ^_^;;  Also, despite his occasional impulsiveness, his heart's in the right place ^_^  Despite his usual 'tough guy' attitude, he's really a big softie with a heart of gold...with a tragic past, to boot (sound familiar?).

Sleeping Sanosuke.....Kawaii!!Physically...

I love his smile ^_^  With those gorgeous brown eyes of his, his facial expression is great, no matter what. ^_^  His spiky brown hair that earned him the nickname 'Tori-Atama' ('Rooster-Head') is just perfect!  Also, the fact that he always walks around with his shirt open is very nice ^_^  He definitely has the best outfit of all my harem members, and the body to pull it off.

Vocally...

I love his Japanese voice.  He seems to growl as he talks (which I think would make him a bit difficult to understand...), but it sounds great ^_^  And he can sing ^_^  Just listen to "Kokoro no Hadaka" or "Ippatsu Yarou!"

Quotes

"Usually people pick fights with me. But, I hate abusing the weak, or watching others do so. Especially hypocrites who speak
of freedom, justice, and equality. That really pisses me off."
-- Sanosuke to some drunks (Japanese)

#3 - Mirai Trunks ~ DragonBall Z

Trunks was my first serious anime crush, and until Kenshin, was my most loved bishounen.

Mirai Trunks...with long hair...*drool*Background

Trunks is the son of Vegeta and Bulma.  He was born shortly before the Jinzouningen appeared on Earth.  Mirai Trunks comes from an alternate future; one in which Son Goku died of his heart disease, leaving the Earth without hope of defeating the evil Jinzouningens.   He received his training from Son Gohan, the only remaining Z-senshi.

Mentally...

I've always been a sucker for guys with tragic pasts, and Trunks definitely has one!   As a child, he was forced to grow up very quickly, as his was a world of "hell on earth".  He has a very serious, quiet personality.  He desperately wants to do anything he can to help the people of his world, and the people of the Z-Senshi's world.  He has the same desire to help others that I love so much in Kenshin *S*

Physically...

I love his hair. ^_^  Long or short, that lavender hair is gorgeous.  Also, the fact that he has his father's slim, well-muscled build doesn't hurt either. ^_^   And, or course, you gotta love that broadsword *BG*  And, YES, I mean his weapon of choice (If your mind was in the gutter, it's not my fault =P)SSJ Mirai Trunks

Vocally...

I am very fond of his voice.  Though I definitely like his Japanese voice better, his English voice was pretty good.

#4 - Chiba Mamoru ~ Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon

Mamoru as Tuxedo Kamen ^_^Background

Chiba Mamoru is also known as Endymion.  Before the fall of the Moon Kingdom, he was the prince of Earth.  While visiting his beloved, Princess Serenity of the Moon Kingdom, the palace came under attack.  Endymion and Serenity died in their efforts to protect the palace.  Distraught at this, Queen Serenity used the Ginzuishou to send her daughter, Endymion, and the defeated Sailor Senshi to be reborn on Earth.   Endymion is reborn in the form of Chiba Mamoru, who has no memories of his past life.

Mentally...

Next to Kenshin, Mamoru is probably my ideal boyfriend.  Mamoru is kind, caring, and sweet.   He is also very tolerant of otherwise annoying behavior in a loved one.  Just look at Usagi and you'll see what I mean. @_@  Despite his tendency to get kidnapped, or hypnotized, Mamoru is always there for Usagi when she needs him.  He is also very self-sacrificing, willing to do anything to save the one he loves.  Also, the fact that his love for Usagi transcends lives (it can truly be called eternal) is so romantic....Kinda makes one envious, ne?

Physically...

His gentle blue eyes and sweet smile are enough to keep me happy ^_^

Vocally...

I liked his Japanese voice better, but his English voice isn't that bad...

The Runners Up

Artemis ~ Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon

Artemis, in human form *drool*Background

Artemis is from the Planet Mau.  He, along with Luna, worked as advisors to Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom.  When it was destroyed, Queen Serenity sent the cats, along with the Sailor Senshi, her daughter, and her future son-in-law to be reincarnated in the future.  While Luna searched Japan, Artemis ended up in France.  It was there that he awakened Aino Minako, the first of the Sailor Senshi:  Sailor Venus.  Artemis then served as her trainer and guardian, much as Luna later did to Usagi.  He eventually brought her to Tokyo, to join up with the other Senshi, which Luna had awakened.  Artemis was also "Central Control" that Luna often talked to in the first season.

Mentally...

Ever since I first saw the awful dub of Sailor Moon, I've liked Artemis.  He was always the more laid back of the two guardian cats.  As I learned about the Japanese version, and the manga, I only came to like him more. ^_^   From the beginning of the manga Codename wa Sailor V (the prequel manga to Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon), Artemis was in love with Luna.  Despite her lack of reciprocation, Artemis never stopped loving her.  Even when, in the SMS movie, Luna brushed him off, and was rather cold to him...when she was heartbroken after losing Kakeru, Artemis was waiting there to comfort her, no questions asked.  His devotion is really romantic...It's not often you find someone who will have that kind of commitment.  Also, Artemis does such a great job looking after Minako, without getting overly stressed about it ^_^

Physically...Manga-style Artemis, in kitty form.

In his usual kitty form, Artemis is just plain adorable (especially when drawn in manga style).  I'll admit, I'm a big cat lover, so it's no surprise that I like him. ^_^

In human form, Artemis has long, gorgeous, silvery hair. (Yup, that'll do it for me!)  Also, I like his face....his eyes, his smile...and of course, his outfit ^_^

Artemis sleeping, in kitty form....Kawaii!!Vocally...

I prefer Artemis' Japanese seiyuu, but he was one of the few characters that didn't get a bad English VA.

Bardock ~ DragonBall Z

Bardock ^_^Background

Bardock is the father of Raditsu and Goku.  While on a mission with his team, Bardock was cursed with prophetic abilities.  After he recovers from the mission, he learns that his team had already left for their next mission on Meat-sei.   Rushing to catch up, Bardock arrives to find his team dead, with the exception of his friend, Toma.  With his last breaths, Toma tells Bardock that Furiiza had ordered their executions; that Furiiza had betrayed them and their race.  After asking Bardock to avenge them, Toma dies in Bardock's arms.  As he turns to leave, Bardock comes face to face with his friends' killers.  He quickly defeats them, and returns to Vegeta-sei.  Once he arrives, he tries to rally his fellow Saiya-jins to the cause of defeating Furiiza.  However, the others merely laugh at him; they don't believe him.  Furious, Bardock rushes off to confront Furiiza himself.  After fighting his way through Furiiza's horde of followers, Bardock finally comes face to face with the tyrant.  He attacks him, but Furiiza launches a Deathball at Vegeta-sei before the attack could touch him.  The Deathball engulfs Furiiza's men and Bardock as it descends to the planet below.  Right before he dies, Bardock sees a final vision; that his son, Kakarotto, will be the one to defeat Furiiza.

Mentally...

Bardock is very determined, and somewhat proud....in short, he's Saiya-jin. ^_^   I can't put my finger on what it was specifically that appealed to me, but from my first viewing of the Bardock Special, I became very attached to him.

Physically...

Though he looks almost exactly like Goku, I somehow find him much more attractive than his son.  Perhaps it's the fact that he looks more like a Saiya-jin...I don't know...I can't really put my finger on it, but there's just something about him that I find rather attractive ^_^

Vocally...

Bardock shares a seiyuu with the rest of his family (Masako Nozawa, that is ^_^), so of course his Japanese voice is good.  His shares a VA with Kuririn...despite the quality of his performance as Kuririn, Bardock's VA actually gave him a good English voice ^_^  Actually, Bardock's voice was the only thing that they got right in the dub of the Bardock Special =P

Quotes

"Now, everything changes!  The fate of Planet Vegeta...my own fate....Kakarotto's fate...as well as your fate!  This is where it ends!" -- Bardock to Furiiza (Japanese)

Fujimiya Aya ~ Weiss Kreuz

Aya holding a roseBackground

*Spoilers* Aya was born with the name of Ran.  He lived with his parents, and his younger sister Aya.  The family lived happily until Aya's sixteenth birthday.  On this day, when Ran and Aya returned from buying her birthday present, they were shocked to find their parents lying dead in their home.   Ran then spotted a pipe leaking gas, which exploded a moment later.  Aya escaped the blast, while Ran was trapped under some rubble.  Suddenly, a car raced toward the reckage.  As her brother watched in horror, Aya was hit by the car, which paused only a moment before driving off.  In that moment, Ran saw the man in the back of the car:  Takatori Reiji.  After this incident, Aya was comatose, with only Ran to watch over her.  In tribute to his sister's suffering, Ran took his sister's name and one of her earrings.  In order to get revenge on Takatore Reiji, Aya joined Weiss.

Mentally...

I've always had a thing for mysteriously serious guys, so it's no wonder I like Aya ^_^  Of all the Weiss guys, Aya strikes me as one of the most serious; about everything from their missions to their flower shop.  Plus, you see how much he loves his sister; he was willing to join a group of assassins to help pay her medical bills and to get revenge on her attacker.

Physically...

Another red-headed swordsman...what's not to like? ^_^ Aya can be described as tall, mysterious, and very handsome.   He has such a serious face...and that red hair *G*  Plus, I love his assassin's uniform. He's just gorgeous!  ^_^

Vocally...

I love Aya's Japanese voice...it fits his quietly strong personality perfectly ^_^

Gourry Gabriev ~ Slayers

Gourry with his sword ^_^Background

Gourry Gabriev is the legendary Swordsman of Light.  He wields the Sword of Light (Hikari no Ken) with the same expertise that Lina shows with her magic.  He met Lina when he "saved" her from a gang of bandits...they've been together ever since ^_^

Mentally...

By almost all rights, Gourry shouldn't be here.  One of the first things I look for in a man is intelligence, which dear Gourry obviously lacks.  I mean, the guy is the sole excuse for explaining anything in the show.  ^^;;   In Gourry's defense, though he may not be very bright, you'd be hard-pressed to find someone as sweet and devoted as he is.  When Lina asked, "Just how long do you plan on protecting me, anyway?" Gourry immediately responded, "I dunno...for the rest of my life?"  That easily, without even having to think about it, Gourry showed his true worth.  It's not everyday that you find someone that committed...Kinda makes one envious *sigh*

Physically...

I'll admit, I've always had a weakness for swordsmen...(As if you couldn't tell)  That long blonde hair, and sculptured body don't hurt, either.  Also, Gourry looks so sweet and innocent when he smiles ^_^

Vocally...

I actually like his English voice better.  Don't get me wrong; Yasunori Matsumoto is quite talented.  I just think that Gourry's English voice fits his personality as a 'dumb blonde' a bit better.

Quotes

"What kind of man sleeps on a bed, when there's a woman who's sleeping on the floor?" -- Gourry to Lina (English and Japanese)

"Lina, can you consider my feelings a little next time?" -- Gourry to Lina (English and Japanese)

Zelgadis Greywords ~ Slayers

Zelgadis actually...smiling ^_^vBackground

Zelgadis is the grandson of Rezo, the Red Priest.  As a youth, Zelgadis desired power and strength.  When Rezo approached him with an offer of such, he accepted it eagerly.  However, Rezo failed to mention that in gaining this power, Zelgadis would turn into a chimeric mix of human, golem, and demon.  Disturbed with his newly gotten body, Zelgadis swore vengeance on Rezo.  It was through Rezo that Zelgadis met up with Lina and her crew.

Mentally...

I quickly became attached to his serious, though sometimes bitter or sarcastic, attitude.  He is very intelligent, and usually has a plan when things get bad.  Plus, you gotta love his artistic side!  In TRY, we see that Zel is not only a sculptor, but a musician as well. ^_^   Though, I can't help but wish that he would finally realize that appearance isn't what matters.  After all, look at Lina, Gourry, and the rest of the group.  They all met him after he had become a chimera, and they weren't bothered by his appearance...heck, Amelia is rather obviously in love with him!  He would be so much happier if he would stop worrying about his chimeric body and accept that he is still himself, no matter what his body looks like.  But then, that slight air of gloominess is part of what make Zel, Zel. *shrugs*

Physically...

Despite his own hatred of his appearance, I don't find it at all repulsive...I think it's attractive ^_^  That light cyan colored skin accents his lavender hair (again with the hair!) and blue eyes nicely.  The only thing that would be bad is that, since he is one third rock golem, his hair and skin are all rock hard (Please, no vulgarisms!)  So it'd be hard to run your fingers through that gorgeous hair of his, or to cuddle him ^_^;;

Vocally...

I love his voice...whether Hikaru Midorikawa *drool* or Crispin Freeman, Zel has a great voice.  And he can sing....just listen to "More Than Words" or "We Are..."  ^_^

Hiko Seijuro ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Hiko Seijuro, the 13thBackground

Hiko Seijuro is the 13th successor to the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu, and Himura Kenshin's shishou (master) ^_^  When he's not training his "baka deishi", he's working as a humble (?) potter.

Mentally...

Hiko Seijuro...the first thing that comes to mind about this master is his pride.   He seems to look down on everyone, and isn't afraid to let them know it!  This applies doubly to Kenshin, his "baka deishi" ("stupid apprentice").  Though he sometimes rants and yells, Hiko isn't a cruel man.  He's just not one to coddle you if he likes you.  Take the way he argued with Kenshin when he wanted to join the Ishin Shishi, for example.  Though he sounded very harsh, all he was trying to do was spare Kenshin the pain that he knew would come if he assumed the role of a Hitokiri for the Ishin Shishi.  This is just one example showing that Hiko is also very wise.  Also, Hiko is a man of his word...he just doesn't want you to think you can depend on him. ^_^

Physically...Hiko and his nice smile ^_^

Hiko is what they had in mind when they coined the phrase "tall, dark, and handsome".  Unlike most of the guys in my harem, Hiko is a big man....he's very tall, and well muscled. ^_^  Plus, he has that long, gorgeous dark hair (Can you tell that Kitsune has a thing for hair?) and a strong, well defined face.

Vocally...

I prefer his Japanese voice...his tone is just perfect  ^_^

Quotes

"You were a brat that couldn't be held down back then. And, the result of you leaping from my teachings is this. Your swordsmanship was superior, but at only 14 years old, the stupid apprentice whose mind hadn't matured, suffered deep wounds that would not heal on his left cheek and in his heart, becoming an unstable swordsman, swaying between a manslayer and one who does not kill. And your Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu, as a result, helped create this ghost of the Revolution called Shishio.  Got it? Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu has been taught to protect people from the pain of the times! But, only as a free sword that is not under the influence of any power at all! Because you did not understand that, you are not qualified to learn the final secrets of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu!" -- Hiko to Kenshin (Japanese)

"Because you've slain many people, you don't even value your own life. That is what allows the manslayer nesting deep in your heart to take over your soul. Even using the power of a manslayer who sacrifices himself to protect those that you love or the weak, it is only a moment in the long, continuous strands of time. Live on, Kenshin. Then, you'll be able to use the Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki as you please. And, you will never again lose to the manslayer hidden inside you." -- Hiko to Kenshin (Japanese)

"I'm not someone who enjoys being hugged by other guys. Don't jump at me like that." -- Hiko to Kenshin (Japanese)

Jinzouningen Juunana-gou ~DragonBall Z

Manga-style Juunana-gouBackground

Sometime before the Cell Saga, a young boy and his twin sister were transformed into Jinzouningens (artificial humans; androids) by a strange old man.   Their 'maker' was Dr. Gero, a scientist who formerly worked with the Red Ribbon Army.  He called his 'creations' Juunana-gou and Juuhachi-gou respectively.   However, unlike his other models, the twins proved very difficult to control.   Due to this, Dr. Gero deactivated them and put them into storage.  It wasn't until he was being pursued by the Z-senshi that he was forced to awaken them again.   When they awoke, they greeted him pleasantly, though acting slightly suspicious.   They soon moved to look at another unit, which was not active.  Dr. Gero fiercely tried to stop them, which led them to toss him aside.  Juunana-gou quickly snatched the remote control that the doctor had used to deactivate them and, after a few scathing words, he promptly smashed it.  Moments later, Juunana-gou attacked his 'creator', first putting a fist through his stomach, then kicking his head from his shoulders.  After smashing the head, he and his sister Juuhachi-gou, noticed the Z-senshi.  After a bit of trouble, the two activated the other model, Juuroku-gou.  Upon speaking to him, they learned that he had been programmed to kill Son Goku.  The twins then decided to help him, making a game out of it.   After a brief struggle with the Z-senshi, the three head off in search of their prey.

In the alternate future, Juunana-gou and his sister are happily destroying the Earth, mercilessly killing the inhabitants.

Mentally...Juunana-gou driving ^_^

In both timelines, Juunana-gou has a somewhat childlike personality.   He is very coolheaded, and rather playful.  In the present time, he decides to make finding Goku a game, so he refrains from asking Kuririn the whereabouts of his friend.  In the alternate future, he makes a game out of running people down with his car.  Also, he plays at an amusement park for quite a while ^_^  Juunana-gou is a good example of a two-sided character.  In the present time, he seems to be a fairly nice guy (he never deliberately kills civilians), but in the alternate future, he is a cruel person, who takes pleasure in killing humans.  He reminds me of a teenager...his love for cars, and his carefree personality....and the darker persona of the alternate future...Juunana-gou has it all ^_^

Physically...

What's not to like?  His shoulder-length black hair, his blue eyes....and of course, that outfit. ^_^  He's just adorable!

Vocally...

Though I prefer Juunana-gou's Japanese seiyuu, I do admit that he got a pretty good English VA.

Kudou Youji ~ Weiss Kreuz

Youji looking kawaii in his assassin's uniform ^_^Background

*Spoilers*  Before joining Weiss, Youji worked as a P.I.  His partner was a woman named Asuka.  One day, the two were investigating the disappearance of a young girl.  They infiltrated Liott, only to find that the girl had already been killed.  As they were leaving, they were noticed.  Youji was shot, and insisted that Asuka go on without him.  After a bit of hesitation, she agreed.  As she ran, Youji watched in horror as the men caught up and shot her, killing her instantly.  Some time later, he was recruited to Weiss.

Mentally...

Despite the fact that Youji is a major ladies-man, he does have some morals.  He only goes after girls who are over eighteen years old, for one.   Also, he won't allow himself to hurt a woman, or make one cry.  Plus, he's one of the more laid-back of the Weiss guys, so one can ignore (to a point) his playboy tendencies.

Physically...

I love his hair ^_^  I like the color used in the anime better, though.  What can I say...Youji has a very pretty face ^_^  I like everything about it.  And, of course, his assassin's uniform and those little sunglasses *BG*

Vocally...

Youji has a lovely speaking voice, befitting his role as a ladies-man. ^_^

Being the first non-anime guy to make it into my harem, you know that Little Creek must have something special about him ^_^  He's very strong, and compassionate...plus, he knows how to treat a horse ^_^  Seriously, though, I've always agreed with the beliefs of the Native Americans when it comes to nature and animals, so it's no surprise that I like Little Creek.  What can I say...the horse-lover in me just kinda latched onto him ^_^

Physically...One of my favorite scenes from the movie ^_^

Little Creek has a very nice face ^_^  That smile, that hair...*G*   I'm quite content.

Vocally...

What can I say...Daniel Studi provides a perfect voice for this character ^_^

Quotes

"You'll always be in my heart, Spirit-Who-Could-Not-Be-Broken..." -- Little Creek to Spirit

Duo Maxwell ~ Gundam Wing

Yeah, I know that he's in practically every harem ever made, but I can't help myself!

Manga-style Duo ^_^Background

*Episode Zero Spoilers*  Duo grew up on the L-2 colony.  He was a war orphan, having lost his parents at a young age.  He, his best friend Solo, and a group of other orphans lived on the streets, stealing food from the army.  However, one day, Father Maxwell, of the Maxwell Church, saw them being fired upon by soldiers.  He stopped the men and took the kids in.  All the kids were later adopted, except for Duo.  He then lived with Father Maxwell at the church for a while.  One day, while discussing the war, Duo states that he doesn't believe in God.  Shocked, Sister Helen (a nun at the Maxwell Church) questions him.  Duo replies, "If there was a God, he'd stop the war.  If the war didn't exist, there wouldn't be orphans like me."  The Father then tells him that it is humanity that causes war, not God.  Duo then states that "The only God in this world is Shinigami......Because I've never seen a miracle, but I've seen lots and lots of dead people!"  The boy, the Father, and the nun live peacefully for a while, until they encounter a group of rebels.  They claim that if they had only one mobile suit, they could defeat the Federation forces in the area.  Father Maxwell quotes Heero Yuy, saying that "We colonists did not come into space to fight.  Whatever happens, we should not fight."  Angered, the men attack Father Maxwell and Sister Helen, because they preach peace.  Duo, in order to stop the men, says that he will go steal a mobile suit from the Federation forces if they will leave the church.   He then runs off and quickly steals the suit.  By the time he returns, the church is in ruins.  Father Maxwell is dead, and Sister Helen is dying.  She says a few kind words to him, then dies.  Later, Duo sneaks onto a transport that is carrying Professor G.  The man catches him, and asks him how he got onboard.   Duo refuses to tell him, but introduces himself as Duo 'Maxwell', taking the name of the late Father.  The man had heard of him, calling him 'Maxwell's demon'.   Duo then says, "I'm not a demon.  I'm Shinigami!"

Mentally...

Duo is a good example of a two-sided character.  On one hand, he is one of the most easy-going of all the Gundam pilots...He has a great sense of humor, he's very friendly...he'd be fun to hang around with ^_^  On the other hand, he's a 15 year old who calls himself "Shinigami" ("God of Death"), and has the skills to consider mass destruction a hobby.  In a way, he's two different people all at once....On the battlefield, he is Shinigami, the Gundam pilot who seems to delight in battle, and destroying his enemy, which he is extremely good at.  Off the battlefield, he is Maxwell, the young teen with a tragic past who wants only peace.   In short, he is 'Duo'.  He's a perfect mix of the two extremes   ^_^

Physically...

First is the reason he is called 'the Braided One'...I love his hair!   I also like his blue eyes, and his smile ^_^  And, of course, that outfit he wore in Endless Waltz ^____^

Vocally...

Duo got a pretty good VA in the English dub of Gundam Wing, and of course, his Japanese seiyuu was very good.  ^_^ Plus, he can sing...just listen to "Kitto OK!" or "It's So All Right!"

Quotes

"If it means peace for this colony, I'd be the God of Death any day." -- Duo to Professor G (English and Japanese)

"If you're joking, that's cruel. But if you're being sarcastic, that's even worse!" -- Duo to Sally Po (English and Japanese)

“Just you wait! The God of Death will ride again!! But RIGHT NOW.......I need some sleep.” -- Duo to Wufei

Zechs Merquis  ~ Gundam Wing

Zechs Merquis: Preventer WindBackground

Born as the first son of the Peacecraft family, Zechs' given name was 'Milliardo'.  The Peacecrafts were the ruling family of the small, pacifist Sanq Kingdom.  When Milliardo was a child, the Alliance's military destroyed his country, killing the entire Peacecraft family, except for himself and his younger sister, Relena.   After this, he took up the name 'Zechs Merquis' and donned a mask to hide his identity.  He then joined OZ, where he moved up to rank as one of Treize Khushrenada's closest friends.

Mentally...

Zechs' most endearing quality is his tendency to keep the peace.   Raised to be a pacifist, circumstances thrust him into the life of a soldier.   Despite this, all he wanted was to restore his father's peaceful kingdom, which would be led by his sister, Relena.  Once the Sanq Kingdom had been restored, he did everything he could to bring peace....even if his methods were a bit extreme, his heart certainly was in the right place.  Then, in Endless Waltz, he worked as a Preventor, once more playing the peacemaker ^_^

Physically...THE greatest Zechs picture in existence!!

One of my first real bishounen, Zechs is gorgeous!  I love his long, white-blonde hair ^_^  And, of course, his gorgeous blue eyes.  That nice build doesn't hurt, either ^_^  My only complaint is that stupid mask (I really hate that thing...)

Vocally...

In the English dub of Gundam Wing, Zechs' VA was Brian Drummond (also known for his role as 1st season 'Vegeta'), so you know he had a good voice ^_^   And, of course, his Japanese seiyuu was very talented, as well.

Quotes

"I've come to ask for a code name. If I may suggest, I'd like the name Wind. Appropriate for one who puts out fires." -- Zechs to Lady Une (English and Japanese)

Xelloss Metallium ~ Slayers

Xelloss...with his eyes open ^_^Background

Xelloss is one of the most powerful Mazoku (excluding the Mazoku Lords, of course).   He has worked for Hellmaster Phibrizo, and is the Priest and General of Beast Master Zellas Metallium.  For varying reasons, he follows Lina and her crew around.

Mentally...

Xelloss is one of those two-sided characters that I often find myself attracted to.   On one hand, you've got the Mazoku fruitcake that follows Lina and Co. around.   His usual attitude of the "Trickster Priest" is charming....as long as you're not the one at the butt of his jokes.  On the other hand, you've got one of the most deadly Mazoku around.  His sense of humor then turns to a hint of a sadistic attitude. (Just watch the episode when he fights Valgarv, after offering to take him back to the Mazoku side...)  Due to the fact that his "harmless" persona gets more screen time, one tends to see Xelloss as one who places his evil intents in the backseat to his normal, jokester personality.

Physically...

Xelloss has such a cute face!  Whether smiling with his eyes closed as he wags his finger at you, or the rare occasion when he opens eyes, he's adorable.  When he does open those gorgeous eyes of his and turns serious...well, let's just say that you want to make sure that he's on your side.  You can just see the danger in his eyes ^_^ Of course, I'm also fond of his gorgeous purple hair.

Vocally...

I definitely prefer his Japanese voice.  He usually sounds very causal and easy-going...I love his Japanese voice ^_^  His English voice is (in my opinion) too nasal-sounding...that and he has difficulty yelling =P

Quotes

"That is a secret." -- Xelloss to a lot of different people (Japanese)

"To fool your enemies, you must first be able to fool your friends." -- Xelloss to Lina Inverse (Japanese)

Nagisa Kaworu ~ Neon Genesis Evangelion

Nagisa Kaworu...Heavenly!Background

Initially, little is known about Nagisa Kaworu.  According to NERV, he is the Fifth Child.  *Spoiler* When Asuka begins having trouble piloting her EVA, Kaworu is sent over to the Japanese branch of NERV to replace her.   He is introduced when he meets Shinji, who is sitting on a beach.  The two quickly become friends.  It is later learned that he is the 17th Angel.

Mentally...

My initial impression of Kaworu is that he was rather selfless.  *Ep 24 Spoiler*   I mean, the guy sacrificed himself (and his race, basically) so that humanity could survive.  Plus, he had some insight into Shinji's mind, and thus he was able to help him a bit....And no, I do NOT think he and Shinji had a thing for each other.

Physically...Manga-style Kaworu....in a plug suit ^_^

Normally, I'd say that 14 is a bit young to lust after, but Kaworu isn't human, so it doesn't really count.  I think that just about every girl that saw Neon Genesis Evangelion liked Kaworu. ^_^  He's got those soft red eyes, that cute mop of hair, and that gorgeous smile...not to mention his voice!

Vocally...

I love his Japanese voice....Actually, he has the same seiyuu as Xelloss, I believe ^_^   Although, his English voice isn't bad (especially considering the quality of the other Eva dub voices >.<)

Quotes

Kaworu:   "Because it is my destiny to live, although it would bring destruction to humanity.  I would prefer to die here.  Life and Death are equal to me.   Death of the self, that is the only absolute freedom."
Shinji: "What are you?    I don't understand what you're talking about!"
Kaworu:  "That is my will.  Now, destroy me.   Otherwise, you will be destroyed.  Only one life form can be chosen to evade the destruction and inherit the future.  And you are not the existence that should die.  You need the future.  Thank you, my life was meaningful because of you."
 --Kaworu to Shinji (Japanese)

Piccolo ~ DragonBall Z

Quite possibly my first anime crush. ^_^

Piccolo.....Makkankosappo!Background

The current Piccolo is the son of Piccolo Daimao.  When Kami prepared to assume the position as Kami of Earth, he separated any evil tendencies from himself.   Doing this split him into two beings; Kami, the embodiment of the original's Good, and Piccolo Daimao, the embodiment of the original's Evil....in essence, God and the Devil.  Piccolo Daimao was defeated by Son Goku, when the child flew threw his abdomen.  Shortly before he died, Piccolo Daimao ejected an egg, which contained a child; one that possessed his memories and thoughts...his son.  When this child had grown up, he challenged Son Goku, to avenge his father.

Mentally...

While he is technically a Z-Senshi, he still acts villainous every once in a while ^_^  Piccolo has a somewhat harsh disposition; he's very serious...about everything.  He's also very good at what he does, and thus is somewhat proud at times.  Despite this, it's obvious that he is incredibly attached to and protective of Son Gohan....I think that's sweet.  Especially since he originally had every reason to hate him....he is the son of his worst enemy, after all. ^_^

Physically...SD Piccolo.....Kawaii!

Piccolo has a very commanding presence...he could melt stone with that glare ^_^  And, like most of the DBZ guys, Piccolo has a rather nice body, even if he is green (not that I mind!) ^.^;;;

Vocally...

Without a doubt, I prefer Piccolo's Japanese voice.  His first VA, Scott McNeil was fairly talented, but Chris Sabat (his current VA) is terrible =P

Quotes

"Thanks anyway, but I am the embodiment of evil cast off by Kami, after all. I'm not all mushy about this the way Goku is." -- to Vegeta, about killing Nijuu-gou (Japanese)

Sagara Souzou ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Captain Sagara Souzou, with Chibi Sano & KatsuBackground

Sagara Souzou was the captain of the Sekihoutai.  He lead the group until that fateful night when Shindou Tatewaki visits their camp.  He claims that they are merely impersonating a government army, and will be executed for this crime.  Souzou, however, realizes the real reason the Sekihoutai is being disposed of...They made promises to the farmers, saying that the Ishin Shishi would halve taxes....something that, due to their financial situation, the Ishin Shishi could not afford to do.  So, to avoid retracting their promises, the Ishin Shishi would claim that the Sekihoutai were not actually a government army.  Souzou's men try to fight off Shindou's men, but are unsuccessful.  A young Sanosuke carries his wounded mentor away from the battlefield, trying to save him.  However, he is unable to outrun Shindou's men.  He stops when he reaches a cliff overlooking a river.  Souzou, knowing that he is going to die, throws Sanosuke into the river below, so that he can survive and not have to watch his death.

Mentally...

Souzou has values....I like that in a man ^_^  He sincerely wants to make his country a better place, especially for the weak and downtrodden.  Also, he's a good father figure...Just look at how he took care of Sanosuke, especially at the end of his life, when he saved the child from watching his death...Also, you see how great Sano turned out...I think it's safe to say that Souzou had a hand in that!

Physically...

I really like his face...his eyes, his facial expression...and of course, his hair.   Also, I love that uniform ^_^

Vocally...

His Japanese seiyuu is great. ^_^  I really like his voice...it's too bad that he had such a small speaking part =(

Quotes

"Watch closely, Sanosuke.  Soon 300 years of Tokugawa rule will end, and a new era will begin.   The time of the weak being oppressed and crying in their sleep will end and a time where all people are equal, with no high or low, will begin.  We of the Sekihoutai are taking the lead." -- Souzou to Sanosuke (Japanese)

Saitou Hajime ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Saitou Hajime...Wolf of MibuBackground

During the Bakumatsu, Saitou Hajime was the leader of the feared Shinsengumi Squad Three.  In the years following the Bakumatsu, Saitou lived under the pseudonym 'Fujita Goro'.  He worked as a policeman, with the occasional assassination on the side.  Known as the 'Wolf of Mibu', Saitou lives as a Shinsengumi in the Meiji Era, with his own unique idea of justice:   Aku Soku Zan! (Slay Evil Immediately!)

Mentally...

On the surface, Saitou appears to be an unfeeling and ruthless killer.   A Shinsengumi living in the Meiji Era, as he once called himself.  Usually, he seems to be nothing more than a cold and unforgiving man who cares about no one and nothing else but his own particular brand of justice.  However, this is not necessarily his true self.  Saitou isn't as heartless as he seems.  He has shown that, despite the fact that he originally stood against the Meiji Government, he wants to protect his country.   Also, despite his extreme self-control and discipline, Saitou is very human...just take his chain-smoking habit for example!  Saitou's personality reminds me slightly of Vegeta...he thinks that everyone is equal; that is, they are all as dirt beneath his feet!  Saitou is very strong willed and determined.  Also, he is beyond corruption...you gotta love that! ^_^

Physically...

I'll admit, when I first saw Saitou, I didn't find him the slightest bit attractive....I thought he was funny looking =P  Needless to say, I changed my mind. ^.^;;  He has the best facial expressions....His eyes are very nice, and that hair is just plain interesting ^_^  And of course, I like his outfit, which shows off his nice body (especially when he takes off his jacket ^_^)

Vocally...

I prefer his Japanese seiyuu, though I do admit that (from what little I've heard), his English VA isn't half bad ^_^

Shinomori Aoshi ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Aoshi looking serious, as always ^_^Background

A child prodigy in the arts of espionage and combat, Shinomori Aoshi was made the Commander of the famed Oniwabanshu at the young age of 15, just before the Bakumatsu.   His Oniwabanshu were stationed in Kyoto, where they served as spies, assassins, as well as masters of defense.  After the Bakumatsu, most of the Oniwabanshu dispersed into normal society.  However, Beshimi, Hyottoko, Hannya, and Shikijou were not so lucky.  Due to their physical appearances and lack of peacetime skills, they were unable to fit into society.  Feeling responsible, Aoshi lead them as a mercenary group, the only role which suited them, and began a quest to win for them the only prize they could strive for: the title of the Strongest. Years later, during the Meiji Era, he and his Oniwabanshu ended up in the employ of a man named Takeda Kanryu.

Mentally...

Aoshi is somewhat of an enigma.  He's very quiet, very serious; he always fights to win, no matter who he's facing.  He is a man of honor, though not one of forgiveness.  Also, he never smiles, or betrays any emotion other than determination, or anger.   Despite this seemingly cold personality, Aoshi isn't heartless.  Aoshi is kind, just and an excellent Commander who never fails to lead by example.  Aoshi is a man of great determination.  Even his closest friends cannot reach him when he sets out to accomplish something when he is possessed by a driving goal.  Also, he is extremely strong of will.  After the deaths of his friends, he threw everything away.   However, after Kenshin talked to him, he managed to bring himself back from the edge of chaos and returned to himself.  You know that wasn't easy ^_^  Then, despite his original rivalry with Kenshin, Aoshi wentAoshi looking determined ^_^ on to help Kenshin and his friends on numerous occasions.

Physically...

Those piercing blue eyes are enough to catch my interest.  That big trenchcoat draped loosely over his muscular body doesn't hurt, either ^_^

Vocally...

I prefer his Japanese voice, though I do admit that his English VA is rather good   ^_^

Quotes

"The Battousai will be defeated.  However, it isn't for your sake.  It is for the proof that we, the Oniwabanshu, are the strongest.  The Ishin Shishi, though they were our enemies, were men who died for their ideals.  In this Meiji Era, many of them have become rotten beyond recognition...but he still seems to carry the old spirit.  It has been 10 years since someone of that caliber has appeared.  He is our prey." -- Aoshi to Kanryu, about Kenshin (Japanese)

Gene Starwind ~ Outlaw Star

Gene StarwindBackground

Gene Starwind lost his father when he was just a child.  The two of them were in space when they were attacked by space pirates.  Using the last of his time, Gene's father shoved him into an escape pod and launched it.  Due to this incident, Gene has always harbored an extreme hatred of space pirates.  Much later in his life, after he is grown and has teamed up with a young man named Jim Hawking, fate brings him into contact with a woman known as "Hot Ice" Hilda.  Through this woman, Gene learns of, and later acquires, the XGP and Melfina, the strange young woman that acts as the ship's navigator.

Mentally...

I love Gene's attitude.  He's very easy-going, having somewhat of a 'let it ride' attitude.  And his use of the language is rather interesting....there's much to be said for his love of the phrase "Bite me!"  Also, though he always leaves his crew to their own devices, acting like he doesn't care, you know that he wouldn't hesitate to defend them.  He always tries to act like a tough guy, but he's always doing things for other people (like his promise to help Melfina learn about her past).   Granted, his somewhat hentai behavior isn't very attractive, but his otherwise interesting personality make up for it ^_^

Physically...Gene looking kawaii!

I like his face ^_^  His eyes, his smile, his hair...That nice body doesn't hurt, either.  Also, I do not have a problem with his scars ^_^

Vocally...

I like his dub voice, though I think I prefer the Japanese...it's pretty close, though   ^_^

Quotes

Tsukiyono Omi ~ Weiss Kreuz

Omi, looking adorable ^_^Background

*Spoilers*  Omi's past is rather tangled.  When he was young, he was kidnapped.  Due to the trauma of the incident, he didn't remember it until Weiss encountered a mass-kidnapping mission.  As his memory returned, Omi remembered that his father had refused to pay the ransom, so the kidnappers were going to kill him.  Before they could, Persia saved him.  He later learns that he is Takatori Mamoru, the youngest of the Takatori siblings.  When he confronts Persia about this, he learns that Persia is Takatori Shuuichi, brother of Takatori Reiji and thus his uncle.  When Persia confronts his brother, we learn that Reiji had married the woman Shuuichi loved, but he had continued seeing her.  He then tells his brother the reason he had refused to pay Omi's ransom:  he knew that Mamoru had been fathered by Shuuichi.

Mentally...

Omi is possibly the most mature of the group.  He is a computer whiz, and practically runs the flower shop...basically, he takes care of everything and helps hold Weiss together.  Though he is usually the most cheerful of the Weiss guys, he also has more than his share of emotional trauma.  I liked Omi from the first episode, in part because he's usually so friendly and happy.  Later, as things got hard for him, he managed to do what he had to...that's quite admirable.  I've always felt a little sorry for Omi...He's one of the characters that I'd like to just hug him until he feels better ^_^

Physically...

Though Omi is the youngest of the Weiss guys, he's attractive in his own right.  He has such a cute face ^_^  He has an almost perpetually innocent look about him, and has a very nice smile ^_^

Vocally...

I love Omi's soft, youthful Japanese voice ^_^

Quotes

Valgarv ~ Slayers

Valgarv smiling ^_^Background

*TRY Spoiler* Val belonged to the race of the Ancient Dragons.   After being attacked by Golden Dragons, he was nearly killed.  As he lay, dying, in the desert, the Mazoku Lord Gaav appeared and offered him another chance at life.  Val agreed, so Gaav killed him and he was reborn as a Mazoku, and was given the name 'Valgarv'.  He then served Gaav, until he was killed.  Not knowing that it was Hellmaster Phibrizo that killed his master, Valgarv swore vengeance on Lina Inverse (whom he thought had killed Gaav).

Mentally...

Unlike the other Mazoku (with the exception of Xelloss), Valgarv is (in my opinion) almost impossible to hate.  Despite what he does, if you look at his past and current mental state, can you really blame him?  His desire to kill Lina is understandable (he doesn't know that Hellmaster killed Gaav).  His hatred of the Golden Dragons is to be expected, after what happened to him before.  He reminds me of a lost child...he had to endure so many hardships, all alone....you really can't blame him for what he became.  *TRY Spoiler* Also, at the end of TRY, when he wanted to wipe things clean, he wasn't going to do is for the typical Mazoku reason (that's what Mazoku want...to destroy the world).  He just wanted to end his own torment...*End of Spoiler*  He's the kind of character that I just want to give a big hug, and hold him until he feels better ^_^

Physically...

I really like his eyes...they can appear very fierce when he's angry, or soft (almost caring)...like at the end of TRY.  Val is one of the few villains that you can see both extremes of emotion through his eyes.  As you can probably guess, I also really like his hair ^_^;;  Also, I do not think he looks freakish when he transforms (as best he can as a 1/2 Mazoku, 1/2 Ryuzoku)

Vocally...

I definitely like his Japanese voice better, though his English voice isn't that bad.  Also, he can sing (in English, no less!) ^_^  Just listen to "Waru Bad Blood" or "Fair Wind" ^_^

Quotes

Vegeta ~DragonBall Z

Quite possibly my first anime crush ^_^

Vegeta, angry as usual ^.^:;Background

The son of Vegeta Ou, Vegeta is the Prince of the Saiya-jin race.   When he was young, Furiiza destroyed his home planet, along with the majority of his race.  He served Furiiza until after he returned from Earth, after the battle with Goku.  He then went on to have an intense rivalry with Son Goku.

Mentally...

I'm not quite sure why I like Vegeta....he's the kind of person that, if I knew him in real life, I'd have to find a way to keep myself from hurting him ^.^;;;   Seriously though, despite this fact, for some reason I really like him.  I think that I like him for some of the same reasons I like Piccolo.  He's very serious, he's extremely competent at what he does, and very determined.  And, since this is Vegeta, I can't forget his PRIDE. ^_^

Physically...

Take one look at Vegeta, and it's obvious where Trunks gets his good looks!  Though he's a bit short, Vegeta has that same harsh face and expression that I also like in Piccolo.  His hair is just plain cool, even the widow's peak ^_^   His facial expressions are also good...I really love that smirk!  And, of course, there's the fact that he has such a nice body, and the fact that he wears spandex-like clothing almost constantly ^____^Majin Vegeta......(see 1st quote!)

Vocally...

I prefer his Japanese voice, no question!  Though, I do admit that Brian Drummond (Vegeta's 1st VA) was fairly talented, but I really don't like Chris Sabat's rendition of Vegeta =P

Quotes

"I-I am the proud prince of the Saiya-jins!  You think I would allow myself to become your serf?!   You may control my body and my heart, but at least you will not have your way with my PRIDE!!"  -- Vegeta to Babidi (Japanese)

"My heart is calm and still. Still and pure. However, it is purely evil." -- Vegeta to the other Z-Senshi (Japanese)

Yukishiro Enishi ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Manga-style Enishi ^_^Background

*Tsuioku Hen & Jinchuu Arc Spoilers*  Enishi is the younger brother of Yukishiro (later Himura) Tomoe.  When his sister went to Kyoto to find her fiancé's killer, he followed her.  He visits Kenshin and Tomoe once while they are living on their farm.  Due to the fact that Kenshin caused Tomoe such great pain, Enishi hates him very much.  He is eager to get on with their plan of killing Kenshin, so the two of them can return to Edo.  He doesn't understand when Tomoe tries to turn him away from this course of action.  Later, on that fateful snowy day, young Enishi arrives in the forest just in time to see Himura Battousai cut down his sister.  His short black hair is bleached white from the shock of watching his sister die.  Shortly after this, he leaves Japan and goes to live in Shanghai.  Enishi soon learns why it is often called the "Demon City of the East"; his life is very hard, and within a month, he is near death.  Then, a young Japanese couple finds him and takes him into their home.  Enishi later says he thanks God for sending him such easy prey.... He kills them. Why? He hated to see this family happy.  He then learns that the family had been wealthy.  Among their possessions, he finds books of Watoujutsu, which he studies alone.  With their money, he buys arms and sets up a mafia-like organization with a man named Wu Heishin.  With the power and supplies now at his command, Enishi turns his attention to Tokyo, where Himura Kenshin (Hitokiri Battousai) now resides.  He now has only one thing on his mind:  Jinchuu

Mentally...

Unlike most anime villains, I find Enishi almost impossible to hate.  Sure, he does some pretty bad stuff, but given his past, it's hard to blame him for it.  His desire to kill Kenshin is understandable...the entire reason that he desires his Jinchuu is because of what Kenshin did to his sister.  As a young boy for whom Tomoe was both a sister and a mother, it's no wonder he loved her so much.  So his despair at her death is to be expected, especially since he saw Kenshin cut her down with his own eyes.   Granted, he is at least a little insane (which explains why his methods are often so extreme), but considering how young he was when his old way of life was destroyed, it's perfectly understandable that he would not be mentally well.  But the fact is, he is not nearly as bad as he could have been.  *Jinchuu Arc Spoiler*   For one, he didn't kill Kaoru when he had the chance...he did save Kaoru from being shot (because she reminded him of his sister, as she threw herself between harm and Kenshin)...also, consider the fact that he does all this out of love for his sister...(granted, it isn't what she wants, but he doesn't know that)...you notice this more when you see his reaction to reading Tomoe's diary. *End of Spoiler*   Ever since I first saw Tsuioku Hen, I felt really sorry for Enishi...He has such horrible things happen to him, through no fault of his own...He was never a bad kid...he was just unfortunate enough to have his life get messed up like that...I just want to give him a big hug, and hold him close until he feels better ^_^Watoujutsu Ougi: Zetsugi

Physically...

I really like his face...his eyes, his hair, even his smile (insane or not ^_^)....his slim, slightly muscled build doesn't hurt either ^_^  Also, I like his sense of style....his usual clothing, and those cute little glasses are just perfect ^_^

Vocally...

Unfortunately, the Jinchuu Arc was never animated, so we don't get to here Enishi say very much =P  He does have a small speaking part in Tsuioku Hen, and from that I can say that I like his Japanese voice...his voice fits Enishi at that time of his life very nicely.

Honorable Mention

Aida Kensuke ~ Neon Genesis Evangelion

Kensuke ^_^Background

Kensuke is one of the few children to remain in Tokyo-3 after the Angel attacks resumed.  Thrilled with the prospect of seeing a real war, he hangs out with Shinji, camera usually in hand.

Mentally...

Kensuke has a childlike enthusiasm that I find rather charming...he's always so happy to rush off to watch a battle ^_^

Physically...

Yes, I know, 14 is rather young to be lusting after...but I don't really think of Kensuke that way...he's just adorable!  He actually reminds me slightly of one of my fanfic characters....maybe that's why I'm attached to him ^_^

Vocally...

I prefer his Japanese voice to his English dub one.

Quotes

Honjou Kamatari ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Kamatari, The Great ScytheBackground

Kamatari is one of Shishio Makoto's Juppongatana.  Called the 'Great Scythe', Kamatari's weapon of choice is an ultra-heavy chain-scythe.

Mentally...

At first, I'll admit, I saw Kamatari as kind of odd...I didn't dislike him, I just thought he was unique.  As he got a little more screen time, however, I saw that he was more than just a crossdresser.  He just wanted to be noticed.  Most of all, he wanted to be loved by the only man that mattered to him.  Hearing him talk about how he couldn't be the best man (that would be Soujiro) or best woman (that would be Yumi) for Shishio was kind of sad, actually.  He really wasn't a bad guy...he just wanted to do whatever he had to do to earn Shishio's love...I think that's sweet ^_^

Physically...

Given Kamatari's very feminine looks, it's hard to really name anything...he does look like a rather pretty girl, though ^.^  Besides, he's not here because of looks...he's here because of his character.

Vocally...

*Shrugs*  His voice was good, but nothing that really caught my attention.

Quotes

"I'm caught in the middle.  I can't be the best man nor the best woman for Shishio-sama.   Therefore, I perfectly execute any order given me, by putting all of my love into it...helping Shishio-sama is everything to me!  I will not budge from this spot!" -- Kamatari to Misao and Kaoru (Japanese)

Myojin Yahiko ~ Rurouni Kenshin

Myojin Yahiko...Age 10Background

Yahiko is the son of a Tokyo samurai who died as a member of the Shogi-Tai.   His mother also died when he was young, from sickness.  After her death, Yahiko was left indebted to a group of yazuka who had supposedly helped pay for his mother's medical expenses.   In order to repay his debt, he is forced to pick pockets for money.  After trying to pick the wrong pocket, he met up with Himura Kenshin and Kamiya Kaoru.  After they rescued him from the yazuka that was controlling him, he joined them as a member of the Kamiya Dojo, and has been with them ever since.

Mentally...

He may be only ten years old, but Yahiko is very strong and full of spirit.  He learns fast, and he matured a lot when Kenshin was called to Kyoto to deal with Shishio.   Yahiko is one character that you can actually see growing and maturing.   He changed from the arrogant, slightly bratty boy he was at the beginning of the series to a reliable, determined young man, who is able to use his sword to defend his friends and himself.  He continues this growth during the Jinchuu Arc, as well, eventually mastering the succession technique for the Kamiya Kasshin Ryu

Myoujin Yahiko...Age 16Physically...

I know, I'm robbing the cradle with this one...He's only 10 years old....But this is why he has been granted an Honorable Mention, as opposed to a full-fledged membership in my harem.  Since he's so young, and because he's here due to his personality and depth of character, it's really impossible to list any desirable physical qualities. (He is only 10 years old, after all!)   Although, I've seen a couple of pictures of him in which he looks older, and I can say he's not bad looking ^_^

Vocally...

It's hard to say, since he sounds as young as he is ^_^

Quotes

"I'll risk my life to get her back!  If I can't do that, what's the use of the Kamiya Kasshin Ryu...a sword to protect others?!" -- Yahiko about Megumi (Japanese)

"Quasi-Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu...What I learned by watching!  Ryu Tsui Sen!" -- Yahiko to Henya (Japanese)

Son Goku ~ DragonBall Z

Son Goku, as a child, and an adult ^_^Background

Goku was born on Vegeta-sei, the son of Bardock.  Shortly before the planet's destruction, he was sent to Earth, to conquer it.  However, due to a head injury, Goku forgot about his mission and then lived peacefully with his adoptive grandfather, Son Gohan.  He lives in his grandfather's secluded mountain home until he meets Bulma, who tells him about the DragonBalls and convinces him to go with her to look for them.

Mentally...

Goku is here for one main reason:  he's such a good hero...and for some reason, that really appeals to me ^_^  With all these baddies and misunderstood characters, my harem needs a true-blue hero....one who doesn't have some horrible past, secret, etc. haunting them.  That describes Son Goku perfectly.  He may be kinda simple, but Goku's still very lovable...perhaps in part because of his slightly naive attitude. ^_^  There's just something about him...If some villain is threatening people, he'll do everything in his power to protect those people...even if it's at the cost of his own life.  In that aspect, he's very noble.

Physically...

Even as he grows up, Goku retains his childlike facial expressions.  He's rather adorable, actually ^_^  Of course, he's well-muscled, but it's his face that captivates me.  And, like most of Toriyama-sensei's characters, his hair is just cool ^_^

Vocally...SSJ Goku using Shunkan Idou

I love his Japanese voice...Masako Nozawa gives him such a carefree, almost childlike voice...it fits his character perfectly ^_^

Quotes

Goku:  "Even if you know it's impossible, there are times when you must do it anyway!"
